HUD Housing Choice (Section 8) vouchers subsidize rent in private apartments. Section 202 communities are purpose-built, subsidized senior apartments. Both have income limits and, often, waitlists.
Pinellas, Hillsborough, and Pasco each have housing authorities administering these locally.
